The marine paint jobs are all at least 15 years old and I feel I am now capable of better but they probably represent the best of my painting at the end of my 'first phase' (see my history). Besides which, they are my beloved 'Sunburst Warriors', veterans of many a weekend gaming. At this point I was coating in a base coat of GW sunburst yellow, then adding a wash of red/orange ink and then blending in succesively lighter coats of paint as the ink dried. Slow work but did produce good results.
The Dire Avenger is a leader in a second small army of eldar, which never saw much action. This was painted in my second phase by which point I was beginning to highlight in a more traditional way, but still using ink washes.
